Rare Ferraris, generations of Porsches and landmark Mercedes-Benz models filled the grounds of The Bridge on September 19, 2026, as the invitation-only automotive gathering celebrated its tenth year. Presented by Mercedes-Benz USA, The Bridge X brought cars from private collections around the world to a setting with its own racing history: the former Bridgehampton Race Circuit.
Now home to The Bridge Golf Club, the property remains central to the event’s identity. Few automotive gatherings take place on the site of an actual historic racecourse, giving this annual Hamptons occasion a direct connection to the sport it celebrates. Behind the event are Robert Rubin, The Bridge’s founder and CEO; Shamin Abas, president of Shamin Abas Associates; and Jeffrey Einhorn, a Manhattan attorney and longtime collector.
The anniversary extended to the presenting sponsor. Mercedes-Benz marked 140 years since Carl Benz’s 1886 automobile patent with “Lines of Motion,” an installation that interpreted the brand’s history through color, shape and movement. Cars throughout the grounds carried that story from past to present, with several 300 SLs appearing alongside the Mercedes-AMG ONE and a broader selection of sporting models dating from the 1950s onward.
Color once again helped organize the displays. White Porsche 911 RS models offered a view across generations, while another Porsche grouping moved through a gradient of greens. Ferrari received its own green treatment, bringing together cars in different shades of the color. Elsewhere, 16 Ferrari Testarossas occupied the driving range, and Paddock Four served as a starting grid for competition cars from the 1950s to today. Supercars and hypercars from numerous manufacturers rounded out the field.
Restoration and customization were another focus. Twisted Automotive displayed two classic Land Rover Defenders, each requiring more than 2,500 hours of handcrafting. Both wore colors created exclusively for the event, including Hyperion Blue. Visitors also got an early look at the company’s 500-horsepower TRRC through a detailed scale model, ahead of the full-size vehicle’s U.S. introduction in October.
Fashion, hospitality, and design were present throughout the grounds. Mytheresa, the exclusive luxury fashion partner, created a men’s lounge featuring a selection of luxury clothing, bespoke tailoring, shoe shining, and premium cigars. The Hangar Group used virtual reality to take visitors inside one of its spaces and help them imagine how it could be personalized.
Some of the day’s most playful settings drew on American roadside culture. A new drive-in theater scene arranged cars and chairs around a screening of highlights from Bob Rubin’s favorite car movies, with narration by Rubin and popcorn among the classic movie concessions.
The celebrations continued on Sunday, September 20, with two gatherings that opened the weekend to a broader audience. At the Bridgehampton Museum, Cars & Coffee, presented by 1600 Veloce, was open to the public at no charge. Enthusiasts gathered to share classic, vintage, exotic, and specialty vehicles.
The final event, The Bridge at Topping Rose House, honored Mercedes-Benz’s 140th Jubilee with a ticketed garden gathering capped at 500 guests. Proceeds supported Heart of the Hamptons, the Southampton nonprofit that operates a weekly food pantry and provides emergency assistance to local individuals, seniors, and families.
